Newton Longville Church of England Primary School

Curriculum

Our Newton Longville Curriculum is designed with the intent to maximise the potential of all of our pupils; intellectually, socially, morally, emotionally and culturally.  We take every opportunity to encourage a love for learning within all of our pupils, based around a resilience for learning and achieving greatness.  Most importantly we allow our children to learn in a safe and stimulating environment, where their views are valued.  In an age where technology is ever developing we believe that developing our children to be confident to deal with the demands of a rapidly developing 21st century world.

Our curriculum is designed to support us realise our school vision.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart. Colossians 3:23

The implementation of our curriculum means that children will learn and make progress by knowing more, remembering more and being able to do more. The impact is that children leave having achieved the best they can from their starting point. Each new learning experience results in an alteration to the long–term memory, hence new knowledge has been learned.

Our Newton Longville curriculum is adapted when needing to meet the needs of the pupils with Special Education Needs and early stages of language acquisition. These children make progress by developing their knowledge, skills and abilities to apply what they know and can do with increasing fluency and independence. They build on this acquisition year upon year.
